Gelateria Frigidarium

I was walking home from dinner with Professor Krentz, the former chair of the Classics department at Davidson who is in Rome with the Classics Semester Abroad trip, and had a bit of a craving for something sweet. I was walking past the Pantheon and remembered the gelato place that Melissa had taken Katie and me to on via Governo Vecchio so I headed in that direction.

The place is called Frigidarium and is very well positioned to attract a crowd, across the street from the always jammed Da Buffetto and the Irish Pub Abbey Theater. The gelato is artigianale and is very good across the board. Tonight I had a small cup with peanut (aracchidi) and chocolate. I don't think I have ever seen peanut flavored gelato, it was quite good, although a bit mild. The few times I have been there they man who serves the gelato is always making suggestions, by offering tastes, to those who are a little indecisive.

Via Governo Vecchio, 112 (near Piazza Navona)
