Bella
Florian's girlfriend is in town for the weekend for her birthday and last night he took her to Pierluigi for dinner and I stopped by for a piece of cake and glass of passito, a delicious apricot dessert wine. I walked in and Lorenzo took me aside and made sure that Florian and Bella didn't see me. We went back to the kitchen, all the staff pointing at their watches and saying I was late for work, and put a candle on a generous helping panna con frutti di bosco (whipped cream with wild berries). We walked out to the table and Lorenzo put the plate down in front of Bella as we both loudly said tanti auguri (best wishes). Florian and Bella recounted their dinner, a spread of appetizers, Amatriciana al Mare, and then a swordfish wrapped in prosciutto that sounded amazing. Great to catch up with Bella who was in Argentina last semester and now is in Barcelona and hasn't been in Rome since August.
